Overall Review: I bought this for a motherboard that has a built-in network card that stopped working. I installed a pci network card but had to remove my tv tuner card because there are not enough slots. The usb network card will let me keep the tuner card installed. Amazingly, while I was waiting for the DUB-E to arrive, the on-board network card went out on another computer!
I plugged in the DUB-E and it worked great. This is on a computer running Crunchbang Linux. In network manager uncheck the box for "connect automatically" for eth0 the on-board card and check the box for eth1 the usb card.
In my case I had to reboot for the USB card to start working. That system runs Linux Mint. Pros: In Windows 7 and Ubuntu No setup or driver install is necessary.
I talked a non-computer technician through the process of setting up the network over the phone, so the simplicity of installation for the network adapter was a major plus for me.
Cons: Do not order if you have Win7 x I found the drivers on the dlink ftp server, 32 and 64 bit. The 64 bit file is currupt. Windows reports this unit will not work in win7.
The Vista x64 driver works, but is very buggy, and files downloads are impossible. Overall Review: I've been a linksys guy for years, but thought I'd give this unit a try.
